Hey I’m Hannah, a pet therapist that is mobile and covers the whole of Kent. My services include canine and feline nutrition, canine massage, teeth cleans, acupressure and more. I also help in the family business on the pet shop side.
Do you have your own dog(s)?
I have one dog called Winnie who is an old English bulldog who doesn’t like other dogs due to having severe Hip dysplasia. She was going to be put to sleep at just 16 weeks old, she’s now 7 and I manage her pain with my services and hydro!
How do you start your day?
Typically wake up at 6am to feed all my pets and this is the time my two girls normally wake up also! I then either have a shower or make a nice coffee to start my day whether I’ll be helping in the family business or getting ready to see my first client of the day.
How does a typical business day look for you?
Most days I help in the family business (shampaws grooming & pet store) so that will be sorting out stock, helping customers, date checking or seeing to reps and also making sure the diary is up to date for all our grooming customers. I am slowly building my clients for my therapist services.
How do you finish your day?
Normally get home around 6pm and either start cooking dinner or get into comfy pyjamas first. It’s then sit down and spend time with my family.
What do you most love about running your own business?
The flexibility I can have! If I need a certain day off due to the kids or going to event I can do that! I can also decide how many clients I want to book in for that day also!
And your least favourite thing?
The admin side of things!!! Some days there is so much admin to do and I try to keep on top of it so it doesn’t take me a whole day!! Also making sure it’s all correct before sending off!
What would you like to say to dog owners reading this?
That I’m super grateful for all the support I get and I wouldn’t be running my business if it wasn’t down to them! I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and hoping to welcome new faces in 2025!
